TOKYO, Japan (August 3, 2007)— The Nissan Design Forum & Exhibition, jointly organized by Nissan Motor Co., Ltd and Edaran Tan Chong Motor Sdn Bhd (ETCM) kicks off today at the Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) in Malaysia. It will be opened for attendance by the public on Aug 4 and 5 2007.
Hosted and supported by the Faculty of Art & Design of UiTM, the Nissan Design Forum has been planned to ensure optimal outreach to design students and communities in Malaysia.

The event is part of a series of design forums launched by Nissan in Singapore August 2006 and the first ever to be held in Malaysia. The design forum is aimed at encouraging local students who want to pursue a career in automotive or industrial design, as well as to raise interest in car design for the Malaysian public.

The Nissan Design Forum in Malaysia will include design presentations by Nissan’s designers, clay modeling demonstrations by modelers as well as interactive workshop sessions tailored for design students from some 22 varsities and schools here. The workshops will provide an opportunity for students to show their works or sketches and receive informal feedback from Nissan’s designers.

An “Imagination Factory” exhibition will be held concurrently to showcase Nissan’s design philosophy and the creative development process involved in designing a car. The display will include quarter-scale models of concept cars and exploratory models. This exhibition will be opened to public from August 4-5 to provide visitors with the sense and feel of actually being in one of Nissan’s design studios.
